In today's episode of the LogicStreaming Podcast, Patrick Yoder, CEO and co-founder of LogicStream Health, outlines the history of the company and the impetus for developing clinical process improvement and control software to improve care delivery and reduce cost. Clinical process control is the key to standardizing care and reducing unnecessary variation.
Yoder talks through his experience prior to co-founding LogicStream Health and his background of process development and control, going all the way back to his childhood. Also included in the 23-minute episode is an outline of how health systems are improving and controlling their clinical processes and having a positive impact on patient outcomes and the bottom line by eliminating unnecessary testing and improving appropriate utilization of labs and medications.
In one example, Yoder describes how a health system customer was able to eliminate one unnecessary test that was completely obsolete and saved $120,000 annually. With instant, highly actionable insights into their processes, clinicians were able to identify this obsolete test and remove it as a default in a number of order sets in use across the organization.
