In today's episode of the LogicStreaming Podcast, Dr. Brita Hansen, LogicStream Health Chief Medical Officer, joins host Patrick Yoder to discuss opportunities for overcoming healthcare delivery challenges.
This episode starts with a brief recap of episode one, in which Patrick Yoder, LogicStream Health CEO and co-founder outlines the impetus for LogicStream Health and how he identified the need for clinical process improvement technology.
Dr. Hansen, an internist by background, reflects on her work as a clinician in improving clinical care delivery processes to engage clinicians and drive appropriate utilization. The discussion outlines the current way many health systems are tackling hospital-acquired conditions, implementing workflow improvements and gaining an understanding of how clinicians are interacting with patients and the agreed-upon best practices.
As an internist, Dr. Hansen was focused on publicly reported quality measures and working on performance improvement opportunities to drive better clinical outcomes for patients. The big question remained, ‘How will we measure the effectiveness of the work we’re doing and the processes we’re putting in place?’
It began as a manual process but the team quickly realized that was not a scalable model to drive consistent improvement around one initiative, much less all the imperative work that needed to be done throughout the health system.
The conversation then turns to the opportunity LogicStream Health customers have in this arena of clinical process improvement and how these organizations are overcoming healthcare delivery challenges. This 28-minute episode dives deep into clinical process improvement work and gives listeners a guide to engaging clinicians in the process to improve patient safety and quality.
